These steps demonstrate how to connect to Ģtv's WiFi network on Android and Chromebook devices.

Background

eduroam (education roaming) is the secure, world-wide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. It is the primary Wi-Fi network for the Ģtv community. Devices registered on Ģtv’s eduroam network will automatically connect to the eduroam network at other institutions worldwide. .

Requirements

  • eduroam credentials - in Ģtv’s case, an active network account (the same account used to access the Portal)
  • An Android device or or Chrombook device such as a smartphone or tablet

Procedure

The look of the interface settings for Android devices and Chromebooks can vary by device and version.  Use the guide below to set you your device.

eduroam Guide

If your device requires any of the following details, enter the following:

  • EAP Method: PEAP
  • Phase2 Authentication: MSCHAPV2 or None
  • Online Certificate Status:  Don't Validate
  • CA Certificate: “Don’t validate” or Use system Certificates
  • Anonymous Identity: leave this blank (some Pixel devices may default to "anonymous" - delete the text "anonymous")
  • Domain: colgate.edu
  • Identity: enter your full Ģtv email address
  • Password: enter the password you use to log onto the portal
  • Minimum TLS version: V1.0
  • Auto reconnect: select the option to automatically reconnect
  • Advanced Options: No need to change any of the Advanced Options
